The PNP is a migration program that allows provinces across Canada select the immigrants appropriate for its labor market and economy. A candidate who is ready to settle in a particular province can apply through this platform.
Each province is allowed to select based on its own criteria and parameters, i.e. each province has different sets of requirement, as it has to select the appropriate candidate for its own region. There are a few benefits to applying through the PNP, for example;

There are two basic ways to apply through a PNP of a particular province in Canada
- Apply to a PNP directly
- Apply through Express Entry system
If you choose to apply to a PNP directly, the first thing you need to do is apply to the PNP in the province you would like to settle in. To provide yourself with an edge, you must have the skills, education and work experience you need to settle in Canada and support yourself and your family. This would allow the province be able to rate you and see if you would be able to meet their labor and economic needs. If you get selected, you are then sent a nomination letter from the province which you can use to apply for your permanent residency. The province then lets you know if you are to apply through the Express Entry system or through the regular application process.

If you apply through the express entry system, the system has a stream that allows the provinces select Candidates from the pool and give them an invitation to apply under the PNP. The candidates profile is viewed and selected by different provinces. If you get invited in such a way, you become eligible to get an online Invitation to Apply for permanent residency visa, based on the nomination/invitation from the province.
